Expanded Vision for NVPO’s 2011/12 Season

The Neponset Valley Philharmonic Orchestra (NVPO) is expanding its vision to become New England’s first professional training orchestra.

To facilitate this transition - including the expansion of its current Board of Directors - the NVPO will use its 2011-12 season to offer a series of chamber concerts in private homes throughout Greater Boston.

“The orchestra needs a strong Board committed to our vision and possessing the three important W’s - work, wealth, and wisdom,” said Board President, Susan Epstein.

The expanded vision, which will include a name change for NVPO, will also add post-collegiate, professional training opportunities and seminars for the musicians. Future concerts will continue in the Neponset Valley as well as expand into the Greater Boston area. In addition to being the only training orchestra in New England, the NVPO will become only the fourth such orchestra in the country For the past three years, the Neponset Valley audience has enjoyed professional philharmonic concerts, right in its own backyard. Conducted by nationally acclaimed Maestro Lawrence Isaacson, the musicians of the NVPO are some of the most highly trained musicians from the US and around the world.

This season, during these challenging economic times, the NVPO will take an intermission from performing full symphonic orchestra concerts in order to implement the expanded vision as well as to ensure its long term success and growth potential.
